740 Lambda sond light 700 1989

Hi all,
Car in question is a 89 740GL sedan with B230F and LH2.2.
When the car is started when the engine is warm/hot quite regularly the Lambda sond light stays on. However it will go off the instant the accelerator pedal is tapped. The car starts and runs fine otherwise. Is this light related only to the Oxygen sensor or could something else be involved? Does it mean that emissions are too high?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you
Brad

Basically anything that'll log an error code will light the lambda sond. Could be the O2sensor, could be the AMM, could be dozens of other things. Read the 700/900 FAQ on how to read out the stored codes and what they might mean, keeping in mind that what the computer thinks is wrong is not, in fact, necessarily what is really wrong, but could be a secondary symptom of the real cause.

Hi Bram

Thanks for your reply. I will check out the fault codes this afternoon and see what I find.

Thanks again.

Brad
