Anyone have a good working IAC for an '85 Turbo for sale? 200 1985

Hi everyone. First off, I see posted not long before me here The Hutch has asked for the same part, so please email him first if you have one- I just happen to need one now too. I'm not sure if they're different for an '83 vs. an '85- also, maybe someone can set me straight here, are they the same between a turbo K-jet and a non-turbo k-jet? Mine has been sticking making the idle stay high, so please let me know if you have an extra for sale. Thanks

Have you shot some carb cleaner thru your idle motor yet?

I need to do this with the wonder wagon. It's intermittently sticking at a real high idle (1200-2500 RPM.. makes it interesting to shift into 1st gear). But if a cheap idle motor came up for sale, I wouldn't hesitate to buy it.

FCP Groton has the new 84-85 motors for $105, the 82-83 motors for $144, and rebuilt 84-85 motors for $75+$20.

I've heard from various acquaintences that there's at least a few 240T's floating around the local yards.

Are the turbo units different than the non? Probably. Subtle things to make the warm up experience better.. custom fit idle motor and stuff. That's my guess.

Hey, yeah I tried the carb cleaner thing twice now, it sort of worked the first time but didn't seem to help the last- I'm sure it's the original IAC and the way this car seems to have been maintained, plus normal use, would lead me to think it's the original and is just ready to be replaced.

Yeah. I figure there's about 300k on the wagon (whole speedo stopped at 260k, I wouldn't be suprised if it's been that way for the entire 5-6 years the PO had it). Time to replace lots of stuff (shocks, bushings, wiring harnesses, etc). The funny thing is I just can't bear to part out the 85 yet.

Yeah, mine's been a replace project, lots to do. You're going with the '84, huh? I thought the '85 wasn't too bad and had pretty low miles? Well, let me know if/when you part ou the '85- plenty I can probably use :)

Heh. Nahh. I've decided to try and fix both. I've got some memories attached to the 85. Besides which, it's got an awesome interior and other stuff. The 84 needs lots of work.. but I just smogged it. It was almost off the charts.. barely registered. The problem is that the 85 needs lots of body work. There's rust in the damndest places. Needs a fuel pump, head needs to be fixed up, center support bearing, etc. The 84 has floor pan rust, but the body looks much nicer. It just SMELLS bad.

I think there will be a place in my wallet for both of them.

P.S. My friend Sam and I are heading way down to the Hayward yard tomorrow morning. You (and anyone else interested) should come along. The AMM arrived today, so we'll likely take his sweet 764T.

According to ipd's website 81-82 n/a 240s and 81-83 turbo 240s use the same idle motor (last three digits are 500) and 84-85 turbos use the 501 which is the same as 83-87 n/a 240.
