I think this is a wonderful site and in only a month or two of reading it I have learned so much about 240s.
Please excuse my ignorance, but why are so many postings from people claiming to be someone else? It is so easy to register in one's own name, why pretend to be someone else? Or is there a point here I am missing?

It's so when I post an answer that is spectacularly wrong, I can claim it was posted by an imposter disavow any association with it.

Actually, it is just easier to let my cookie post my claimed name than to log in and remember my password (do I have a password?)

Here's a frinstance. I choose not to log in when I'm at work. I seldom do much on this site when I'm at home cause I've got dial-up and get bored waiting for the screens to load. There is no reason for any sane person to claim to be me, so that part isn't important.

Some just choose not to register. Sure it's easy, it's also easy not to and post anyway.
