Aftermarket seats / steering whl... 140-160 1968

I have a big, old, and thin steering wheel on my 142 and was wondering how I can get an aftermarket steering wheel to fit my car... I cannot find a hub for the 140 series, only for the 1800 and 122, is one of these the same as mine? Also, my drivers seat lumbar support is broken, and I need the lateral support from a better seat. What can I do for this? Do I have to go to a custom/race prep shop so they can make custom mounts? b/c the orig. seat is only held on @ three points... Anyone know of anything for my sporting intentions, or have any experience w/this?

Any help appreciated.

I have a sparco D shape on my '69 142.The way I did it was to fit a removeable hub kit. you pretty much have to plan on not ever putting on the stock setup again unless you replace the upper sterring column. Anyway if you want to proceed I bought a sleeve style quick release wheel hub and it comes with a weld on spline. I got a nice one so it cost 55 bucks, but you can get the nob style ones for about 30. After that I bought the momo adapter for 40 bucks that fits the quick release hub. Then your set to fit any wheel with the six bolt italian pattern. Since the spline is weld on it won't ever come off and I imagine that if I needed to put a new steering column in I would have to cut the upper half in two to get it out.

Goodluck, Aaron

As for the steering wheel watch E-Bay real close and good luck. There was a guy selling Nardi adapters for about $60.00. Fabricating the existing hub to a wheel adapter is too far fetched. That's what my Grant adapter looks like on my 142E.
