240 Rear Lense/now lights don't work...Huh?

Ok guys...moderately experienced but too often 'dumb' here.

Changed out faded, cracked right rear tail lens (with an aftermarket product)on my '90 244 this afternoon during my lunch break, which I 'thought' was a simple job.

Carefully unbolted assembly, removed foam rubber gasket, unplugged main connector, removed sockets in order..then Carefully removed and untaped the circuit board from the original lens..replaced circuit board (carefully, of course) and retaped on replacement lens...but no lights!

'didn't have time for a continuity check (parking lot at work) and I'm pretty sure I avoided damaging the circuit board during transition...but VERY frustrated/worried now....any ideas what I've done..and what I should do to 'fix' it?

All comments gratefully accepted...Thanks in advance

240 Rear Lense/now lights don't work...NEVERMIND...just my stupidity

Sorry for the false alarm...and now embarassment. got home last night and learned that I had installed the main plug incorrectly so it 'bunched up the circuit board flap. Took my time, re taped/re set everything...used a bit of light (non cunductive) grease, slipped together like a charm...everything works fine...be advised, though, I used an aftermarket lens..tolerances may be different....Sorry to bother you guys...keep rolling

Taillight replacements 200 1990

Just curious- whose lens? I just replaced both on a 90 (Sunday - pregame) one with a Scan Tech and t'other with a brand I wasn't familiar with, a big "I" on the logo - something like Swedish Car Parts - I forget now. It was way too cold to take notes or photos, but I recall thinking the Volvo parts might have been a better choice??

Curious Art...where 'near Baltimore? I'm in Columbia for business nearly every week, and always appreciate your posts...might try to buy you a beer some evening...regards...Dennis (a.k.a. 'Dee Jay')

Taillight replacements 200 1990

I used 'The Big I' lens from Swedish Car Parts. Fit not as good as Volvo, and i'd been warned by others about this. Cost was $75 from Trollhattan vs $150 for original Volvo, so decided to take the chance. Only a brick expert can really tell the difference now that it's on the car, unless I have leackage/discoloration problems...time will tell. As this has been a problem on every 240 I've owned, I'm thinking of collecting some salvage original lense assemblies and cutting/polishing/glueing replacement lens segments for some spares. I'm not really happy with the result I got from aftermarket. At least I live in Tampa, where I can work on the car this time of year AND get to enjoy the reflected 'glow' of a Super Bowl Champion football team...GO BUCS!
