U-Joints, how to tell which one. 200 1984

How do I tell which size U-Joint I have on my rear drive shaft? I recall seeing a post a while back, but I couldn't find it. I know the 2 sizes are only a fraction of a difference. It is in need of replacement of course as one can tell. Is there a # somewhere on my car which tells me the size?

Thanks everyone!

Check out IPD website, they have the the measurements for the OUTSIDE of the U-joint yoke and which size u-joint that corresponds to. As you know its pretty much impossible to measure the size of the actuall U-joint while its installed on the vehicle. Whereas it is much easier to just measure the yoke.

Good Luck, you are taking the driveshaft to a shop to have installed right?

Matt

Thanks Matt,

well actually I was going to try it myself, because a friend told me it's a snap, but am I wrong? should I take it to a shop?
