A/C hose chafed through 200 1986

A scary thing happened to my 1986 240 the other day. I was sitting in my car at school waiting for my bro to come out, it was idling. All of a sudden a hear a large whoosh come out from under the hoood and lots of steam, or what looked like steam vented out by the battery.

Later to find out, the A/C hose that passes underneath the left headlight chafed through on the sheet metal, and vented all my R12 out. I would like to buy a new hose, but need to know which one it is so I can get the right one. It is the one that passes through the front of the grill in front of the radiator.
Thanks

I actually got away with a splice "kit" on an 83 ford I had a while back it worked for me for 2 or 3 summers and was still makeing ice cubes when I saw it this spring. I know it sounds far fetched and I'm not sure I'd try it again but it worked fine.

it's a common problem. Also some places can make such hoses, I think for a small fee

See your dealer or call any big suppplier like fcpgroton or Volvoworld. They have the diagrams, they'll know from your description. Good time for a conversion too, with the price of R12 being what it is.
