Check Engine Light Came on, why? S90-V90

I have a 1998 V90 with now about 68,000 miles. Lately we have had nightly temperatures in the teens. Anyway tonight I drive up to the store and while setting in the parking lot at idle, the "Check Engine" light comes on. Everything is running fine, just the annoying light. I checked the gas cap and it was on fine. Any ideas what might be the cause?

Check Engine Light Came on, why? S90-V90

I went by the dealer and they checked the code and came back with an "Air Pump" failure, they suggested it may be the valve sticking. Luckily they reset it and it never came back on. Has anyone had this type of problem before?

That happened to me in my 960. Its the secondary air pump. Its right next to the engine block it warms up the engine when it is cold. Dont worry this happends.

I had this situation last year. I don't remember the code number, but I remember it was related to the P.A.I.R. pump. After clearing the code, the Check Engine warning never came back. I decided to postpone the analysis until summer.

        Thanks for the replies.

I work with another V90 owner, he just walked in and asked what my made my check engine light come on. I told him and described the conditions in which it occurred. The common link was that we both were sitting at idle, when the engine had probably just reached operating temperature, after the temperature outside had been in the 20's. It's probably either a physical fault in the pump itself or a software issue.

Got an Auto Zone nearby? They will read the codes for free.
