How do you remove the wiring from the pre-pump. I can't even remove the pre-pump holder because the wiring is all attached. Where do you disconnect the wiring at? Do you have to cut it off?

SOLVED 700

I found the spade connector inside of the trunk of the car and seperated the wires. Thanks GOD!!! I was about to cut them. That would have been hell, trying to splice wires with only a two inch working area!

Thanks everyone !!!

you don't. Remove it when you get to the pre pump. As I remember, the rubber the wiring goes through can be rotated, not sure though. Removing the hose clamps was hard for me. I had to cut the main hose off about 1/2 in.

A good cheap tool is an adjustable pumpbers pipe wrench, works just like the oe tool.

I'm talking about the wiring on the top of the sending unit. I can't even get the sending unit out becuase the wiring is attached. It seems like you have to cut it to get it out.

If your talking about the plate that the hoses connect to and the wiring runs in. You dont remove the wiring. Remove the hoses, and work the entire assembly out, my pump had two little nuts that held the wire...

I already took the hoses off, but the wiring is preventing me from taking the assembly out of the tank. There isn't enough slack in the lines.

I see, you could try to follow to the wiring form under the car, I think it's attached by a clamp somewhere, removing that clamp will give you some slack.

Also removing the assembly is tricky, play around with it to get enough clearance for ball. What's going to obstruct is the sock, since it's perpendicular to the assembly. You may want to try to fold it somehow to remove it.
