Cold-Idle normal, Warm- idle high, LH 2.4 200 1990

Hello,
When I first start the car when it is cold, it idles at about 850 rpm. After a minute or two when it warms up, it idles steadily at 1200 rpm. WIth the LH 2.4 it is not adjustable, but if it idles correctly when cold, I don't want to adjust the idle. I have no codes showing anything wrong. What is going on?

Hey there Rice -
Noticed your '90 has the VX cam. I have the same in my '92 245 with the M47, and my son is inquiring about slipping a VX into his '91 with the AW70. Which trans do you have? I'm wondering how much an improvement the cam would make with the auto trans, without changing to a higher stall speed torque converter. I'd be interested in your impressions.

Smitty

I had a similar problem due to my use of a vacumn line that wasn't oil resistant. This cause the line to expand naturally and then more as the vehicle warmed up causing the higher idle. Just a thought.
