My 1990 760 gle brakes tend to grab somewhat harshly when they are applied in a usual manner. This only takes place while I am braking on ice and or snow/slippery surfaces. The tires are due to be replaced, however the rear tires are in fair condition, and the front tires show some wear on the outer edges.I am using P195-56-R-15 tires.On dry and or wet rain surfaces this problem does not take place. But when I apply the brakes lightly (feather them), the problem is also non-existent. All of my instrument warning lights work, but none come on registering that there is a problem. I mean the moment I apply the brakes on a icy/snow covered surface, the brakes start to grab, in addition the pedal pulsates up/down. I understand ABS brakes, but this pulsating is very pronouce! I will check the pads within a day or so. My rotors are not chopped up, they are smooth with no ridges. My fluid is appropiately leveled, clear and clean. Is this ABS system suspose to be so pronouced in stopping my vehicle? The car does not wander and or pull to either side when I brake, so at least that is a plus, otherwise what gives?? Might it be my bearings, and if so what are the costs, should I elect to personally do the repairs?
