Stock Wheel Offset on '67 122s? 120-130

Does anybody know? I'm switching from 245.24.17 to 215.60.15 and want to know the offset and what space I'll need if any. Thanks a lot! -- Patrick

I am running 205/65HR15 tires on 15 x 7 Dodge Diplomat police car wheels with
no clearnace problems.

Patrick: According to the ipd newsletter v.14 no.4, which deals with tire/wheel issues, the correct offset for the 122 is +33 to 37mm.

Stock 4-inch wide wheels have their centerline offset one inch inward from the mounting flange. There are lots of postings in the last year's archives on wheel and tire fits for 120's. For tire width and diameter dimensions as installed, and suitable rim widths, see http://www.tirerack.com and look up a tire brand and type similar to what you will be using, and see the "spec" entry for it.

In particular, see "Wheel Swaps/Bolt pattern" of Feb 15, 2002: Right on-point.

Search the archive, this comes up a lot,
but I remember that the stock wheel offset is 0, +- 1/2"?
Havng said that, I think people with much- widened rims have had clearance issues, and gone with POSITIVE offset.
Search will tell all, tho...

I've used 205-75/15s on both my 122 and my 164 with stock wheels and
they seem to work OK It may be that the extra wide ones will give some
grief though.

George: Do those 205's really fit on the creepy 4" stock rims of the 122?

I've been using both 195-75s and 205-75s but remember that not all
brands are exactly the same sizes. Yeah, they don't even look all that
big on the 122 wagon unless you put it beside a car that is wearing 165s.
Actually I had to make a VERY MINOR mod on the rear fenders of the 164 but
not the 122. I think the brands I have been using probably tend to run small,
just like cheaper womens' clothes.
