I am about ready to mount my restored turbo rims but I am 20 lug nuts away. Volvo retails them @ $4.00 a piece!!!! Is there any other place I could find some nice used ones or even new. thanks much in advance!!!!

You can get new lugs for about $1/ea or you can get used ones at the yards for about $0.15/ea (Pick 'n' Pull did a bulk discount when I bought 19 of them :-D)).

You don't really need special lugs, they use a standard US thread pitch (SAE?). The only possibly oddball thing is that it helps to have longer lug nuts.

If you 've got a Kragen/Checker/Shucks around, they have a nice little chart and all of their lug nut packages are color coded. And they've got nice chromed lugs. You can't miss.

So, are the volvo studs a standard 7/16" or are they the 14mm x 1.5?

They're 1/2" right-hand threads.

1/2"? I didn't realize they were that big, hard to take one along if I'm gonna mail-order! ;-) Summit shows a ton of them, less that a buck each in their brand, a little over a buck for "name brand"... One of these days I'm gonna blast and repaint my wheels THEN the old nuts are gonna have to go...

try online places, fcpgroton.com or alleomvolvoparts.com. Otherwise, try some pick and pulls.

Have you tried places like JC Whitney and Summit Racing? These look pretty generic and you might be able to find some the correct thread there. I remember having a set of slotted steel mags many moons ago that, if memory serves me, the nuts were identical.

If you find an alternate source (at a good price) let us know. Mine are still OK but you never know...
