How-To remove the oxygen sensor on a 240 turbo 1983? 200 1983

Hi brickers!!!
Now I have my new Oxygen Sensor, but when I try to remove the old sensor, it is hard access / remove, does anybody of Turbo owners make this without remove the exhaust manifold?, or do I need a special tool to remove?

Thanks!!

when I changed mine, I had to remove one of the oil hoses as it was in the way and I used the o2 sensor socket. But like the other post, a crows thingy tool will work great. Use a lot of pblaster.

my 240 turbo died in a accident.

If it is the same as on my 1985 245, it takes a crows foot socket. As I recall, got mine from IPD many moons ago.

To make it easy get an oxygen sensor socket, and a 5 inch extension.. If you can't locate the socket, you can order one at ipdusa.com. Get the engine warm, and than remove the sensor. It helps to wear a pair of gloves.

I haven't had to replace my O2 sensor yet but on other vehicles that you can't get a box end wrench on they make a deep well socket that has a "split" up the side for the wire to exit through. Seems like I noticed somebody selling them on "that auction site" not too long ago...

Let us know what you wind up with!
