    On your car nothing. Your 86 does not have a frequency valve. It is used on
    cars with K-jetronic injection. Regular 240s from 75-82 US market. Also
    turbo 240s from 81-85 have K-jet. The frequency valve is used to vary the
    fuel pressure in the fuel distributor. This controls the fuel/air mixture
    of the motor.
    Your 86 model is LH Jetronic injection. I believe version 2.2 is what you
    have.
