M41 Transmission Question 120-130 1967

Anyone know what to torque the top cover bolts to on an M40 or M41?
Also, what's the best way to pull out the retaining ring which holds in the output shaft oil seal?

No torque spec for the top cover bolts -- just tighten them firmly and progressively so the cork gasket seats properly. Flat washers or spring washers will do; don't use split lock washers. And be really, really sure that the spring-loaded shifter plate is properly engaged with the rods before tightening anything. Otherwise you'll break the plate and you'll be hating life.

Can't picture the retaining ring you ask about... all the ones I can picture require snap ring pliers except for the huge honker between third and second gear -- a piston ring expander works on that one.
