No AMM on a K-jet car, yes to an idle motor and a primitive flame trap unlike later type. I think the first AMM was the 001 on some 81 and 82 cars.

Idle Motor...no 200 1980

I believe the '80 240 should not have the idle motor. At least according to all the info I have read and the cars I have owned.

The K-jet cars are sensitive to vacuum leaks along the intake manifold gasket, vac hoses, and at the injector seals. Vac leaks cause a rough idle, particularly the injector seals.

While it's idling, squirt carb cleaner on these areas. If the rngine suddenly smooths out, you've temporarily sealed a vacuum leak.

I bet a cold one on bad injector seals.
