I'm having a hard time getting my 83' 244 Ti to start good 200 1983

First here are the car stats- 1983 244 Turbo [intercooled] with 274k on the odometer.

I've had my Volvo for about a month now, and about two weeks ago it has started a funny little trend. Whenever I turn the key, I have to give it a little bit of gas for it to start on cue, or else it idle's really rough and than dies. Sometimes I give it plenty of gas and it takes a few tries to get it going. It does not do this on every start, half the time it starts normal. Could this be the California winters? I doubt it since it is not that cold [lows are in the high 30's, low 40's] but it usually chooses to start rough when it's a bit colder out.

Can someone tell me what to do to fix this? What should I check/replace?

Throttle body and fuel meter plate 100% clean.

Do you suspect the CPR or maybe the FP one way valve?

"Yes, yes I do," says the guy who wishes that the B21FT came from the factory with a brittle plastic rear timing belt cover instead of the metal one that won't bend back far enough to prevent itself from rubbing on the cam sprocket and looks intimidating to remove.

Anyone want to pick up a free, unused ScanTech timing belt tensioner bearing? :-D

Sounds like were having a similar problem, mine floods at start. I have to dry it out to get it going but its still loading with fuel at start.

Runs great once its going. Mine is the same 83 244 turbo. Lets work this out.
