okay, so at the beginning of the winter, my output shaft seal started to spit out some oil, and i figured it could hold out till summer so i could do the job, but it didn't. i ended up spending my day off in the snow on my driveway for three hours doing the job. job completed, no leaks, but because i was freezing so much, i neglected to realize i checked the wrong side of the tranny dipstick, and put too much fluid in. say about a quart or more. i ran it for about 2 days of regular in city driving with no problems (how happy i was) and after i checked for leaks, i was ecstatic. i decided to go for a little trip out of the city, and that's where the trouble started. i had problems shifting after about 2 hours of driving. i realized my mistake, and drained the excess oil. i thought i had the problem corrected, but it seems whenever i start up the car from cold, it won't shift until about 1-2 minutes of driving. after that, it's beautiful. one other thing bugs me. when i changed the seal and bushing, the fluid was almost black. that was brand new fluid i put in about 2 days earlier (going through a gallon of atf every 4 days). i asked a friend, and he said that happens when the clutches start to go. i asked another friend, and he said the problem shifting is beca se all that fluid loosened "the bands" inside the transmission, and i have to tighten "the servo" to correct it. now what the hell am i supposed to do? and please, no remarks about what an idiot i am, as i am fully aware of my idiocy at the moment.
thanks
