Creating larger speaker holes in door 700 1986

I want to get a set of aftermarket door panel speakers for my wagon. The ones that I've tried all have larger magnets than the door can accomodate. How should I cut the metal around the speaker hole in the door? I have little experience cutting metal, but I'm not afraid to. What tools and procedure should I follow?
Thanks,
Nathan

it's called a hammer. works pretty well, but not for the faint of heart. make sure your windows are rolled up.

why not just put BOSE speakers in? Its going to cost you the same to retrofit your door, the sounds quality is the same out of the BOSE speakers as those bigger ones your trying to put in.

Artillery works pretty well but it leaves holes in the outside of the
door that you may not want. There are tool rental places that you might
go to to discuss the problem. There is a gizmo called the "Sawzall"
or reciprocating saw, sort of like a sabre saw but the blade comes out the
end - if you used the right blade that would work, but it is a little bit
rough. On the light side, you could use a Dremel tool with cutoff wheels
and saw it a bit at a time. The rental place may also have some kind of
nibbler tool that might be the best choice (if they have one).
Then there is the "smoke wrench", AKA the oxyacetylene cutting torch,
which is also rough, messy, and is bad about catching things on fire,
especially sound-deadening material, undercoating and upholstery. It is
indeed FAST, though.

Are you sure you want music???

(sorry, couldn't resist.)

I'm dying to have some better speakers in the front to help out the ones I have in the rear (2x12's and 2x8's with tweeters). I'll look into those 3 options.
Thanks,
Nathan

I had that problem on my 940 and I just took pliars and bent and beat the hole bigger, not pretty but no one will see it, and it didn't take long. I did that to all 4 doors.

Good Luck.
