What's it worth? 140-160

I may be forced to sell my wagon....so, what is a 1970 145 worth? The car is in very good condition, B20B engine, Weber conversion, M40 trans. I live in Austin, TX and I see a lot of Volvos running around here, so if I do have to part with her, maybe I won't have too hard of a time selling...

Thanks,

Craig

What force could be strong enough? 140-160

Never surrender.

Might be worth more in another neighborhood.

An example: The last 145 I looked at was $1800 - down from $2300. Rebuilt B20, SU's and some nice factory treats. The body was sound but a lame repaint. Interior intact but tired. Needed serious tuning, some electrical, U-joints, tires, complete brake job, 4 shocks, every bushing and an air freshener. Almost opened my wallet. The car was in west-central Maine. Here (coastal Maine) 140's in the $500 range are typically dogs with a bad case of mange. When you can find them.

It's probably worth anywhere from $300 to $2500 depending on the
buyer and the market and such. If it's in nice original condition
and the paint/body/interior are in good shape you can probably
get $1500 to $1800 if you aren't in a hurry. Does it have the
rear vent windows?

The trick is that these cars are getting hard to find in good shape
but at the same time it is still sometimes possible to get a great
deal. I got my 144 for $560 but it is a very nice car. I had to
do some work on it but not a huge amount. I got that car for a song
and it is worth far more than that. If someone says "I could get
a car just like that for $400" then I say "go ahead. You're not
getting mine for $400." Eventually all the super cheap ones will
get squished or bought by people who aren't selling for cheap.

If it really is nice and you're not in a hurry I'd ask $2000 and
wait for the right buyer to come along...
