Does anyone know or have a contact that knows how to get a stock or slightly oversized downpipe for a b230f na? (Rex Regina) I've just developed a leak right where the downpipe necks down from 2 to 1 pipes.....If I'm gonna have to buy a $200-$300 part, I want to get the most for my money....any help is greatly appreciated, thanx - Kevin

Thanks - I decided to order the Bosal downpipe from www.alloemautoparts.com they seem to have great prices, they'll even pay the shipping for orders over a certain amount. Of course that never applies to Alaska, oh well that's what I get for living in the great land. I'll follow up with a post-mortam, I'm expecting the part tomorrow, I actually checked the bolts yesterday, to my surprise they all are going to come off without having to cut.

Bosal sells one that is stock diameter and OK quality, for somewhat less. I had the same cracked "y" joint, and in retrospect would probably have had it welded or brazed, though.

Kevin,

Same deal happened to mine, solution was to spend an hour or so and grind out the old weld from the crotch of the pipes, take your time and do it properly. Take the pipe to a local welder and have them weld it closed again. Oh take the pipe off the car, only way to reach the top of the pipe, welder does a better job that way as well. Total cost $20, plus the cost of one new down pipe gasket, total time, 3 hrs. Alot better than $600 to replace mine. If the bolts to the cat won't come off, cut them off and just get 3 high temp nuts and bolts from an auto store.
