I saw your post on craigslist, and stumbled across your two here. I think your best plan of attack would be to pull the part from a car in a junkyard.

There are quite a few within driving distance.

The Pick-n-Pull brand has ones on Richmond, Oakland, two in San Jose, and Fairfield (I'm sure I've forgotten a few). I've found that the Richmond yard tends to have older Volvos, and the Oakland one has a huge selection.. they tend to be 80s and up tho. I wasn't hugely impressed with the Fairfield yard. The Oakland one is right down the street from the stadium (whatever they're calling it now) so you could take BART down there if you're unsure about driving your car.

City Tow (if you've read the Chronicle recently, you've probably seen the scathing articles about them) has a large yard at Pier 70 that I've heard many good things about.

Pick--a-Part has yards in Hayward and Milpitas.

P.S. In talking to Rusty, it seems he too frequents the yards, and might have more helpful advice.. I doubt that it would be worth purchasing such a bracket new. But if, for whatever reason, you do go down that route, I'd avoid McKevitt Volvo. I don't care how friendly they are with the Golden Gate VCOA, their parts department is downright rude. Since the parts aren't made of solid gold, I'd say they're overpriced as far as dealers go. If you're unwilling to hit a junkyard, talk to some of the Volvo shops around here. The city is littered with them.

Take it off, take to your local machine shop and get them to weld it back together, grind it down, maybe even drill a new hole...cheap and you don't have to run around looking for one.
buena suerte,
