gutter trim question. 120-130

Getting ready for the big paint job. I notice a slight swelling under one of the gutter trims (the long bits of aluminum (SS?) that run along the eavestroughs of the roof). Now usually I would not take the trim bit off, but as this might be a good time to nip the nasty rust in the bud I am considering pulling the trim. Any of you ever had any luck with that? Also with getting it back on?

Walrus3 is right. You have to pry carefully along the lower edge. First slide the connectors off the joints. Then pry the trim up and away from the car. I took all mine off to paint and it was pretty easy. The lead piece is screwed to the A pillar. To replase it push the top over the gutter and pop the bottom back into place with firm pressure.

Yes you can do it. Be careful to bend it as broadly and gently
(and as little) as possible in getting it off. Usually it is easier
to get the bottom up than the top over.
