I was checking the usual parts sites for ball joints and found a wide range of prices. $15 for TRW's at FCP Groton to $45 at IPD. Anyone have experience or comments on manufacturers or sources?

You can't go wrong with TRW which is an oe supplier. I have bought from Moog to find that the part was made by TRW. I bought from Brentwood volvo before I knew about groton and still did better than ipd or the local dealer. You want the best for safety critical parts as these. The bushings I have installed were maybe meile and scan-tech along with ipd poly stuff and Energy Suspension for stock endlink poly bushings.

Mormit -- I have no doubt that you'll get a range of opinions about this one, but ball joints seem to me to be 'disposable'. I've got TRW's on mine. But suspension bushings are things I only want to do once every 120,000 miles, so I go with the good ones -- IPD, RPR, or Volvo. I've been burned with aftermarket bushings.
