As some may recall from my post last Friday about a sunroof leak I ended up removing the headliner, many trim panels and carpets in the front and rear seating areas. I treated the wet carpets with a potent mold killer and the mildew smell is now totally gone.
The one concearn is my interior lights don't work. I have yet to put them all back in place and I am hopping that the reason is simply because the others are not put back and connected yet (e.g. the footwell lights and backseat reading lights above the rear doors). I don't recall unplugging anything beyond the wires connecting the lights.
The only caveat is I cut the vanity mirror wires as I could not figure out how to remove them. I have spliced one and crimped it and have one more to go (could this be a possible cause?). In any case, I don't want to reinstall everything and have to take it apart again (if I don't have to). I will connect all the lights tonight to test but was hoping someone could provide me with some insight.
I did a quick check of the 5A fuse for the interior lights but it looked ok.
Last, the interior "bell" that goes off when the door is ajar is continually going off even with the doors closed (when the car is running). Is this a safety feature related to the fact that my seats are removed and many of the interior trim panels are removed? Or should I start to worry?
Looking for thoughts, experiences and suggestions.
Best,
Angus
