Odometer Question 200 1985

Not sure, but a while back I might have done the classic: reconnected the wires wrong and toasted my odometer. So what fries on these? If it is an IC, is it one I could find at radio shat or digikey? How hard to fix?

I know some about electronics. However, I have no means outside of a multimeter to test. Any way to Fosterize? Please help.

Thanks.

Odometer Question -- Oops 200 1986

It's an '86.

I have confirmed that the sender is sending. I'm pretty sure it's the electronics.

Odometer Question 200 1985

You mention the odometer doesn't work- how about the speedometer?? If the speedometer works and the odometer does not then I would say the small drive gear to the odometer is cracked or broken teeth. Mechanical odometer gear usually cracks, electonic odometer gear usually breaks a tooth.

Odometer Question 200 1985

The odometer in 1985 should still be mechanical ... '86 was the crossover year.
