Poor surging idle 700

Well my 780 has had a real problem at idle and wants to pull away from me. The RPMs will hunt from 800 to 1700, sometimes without pause.
Anyway, I've tried to check all of the vac lines and attachments, and I also cleaned a lot of crap from the throttle body.
Now I'm noticing a strong smell of gas especially at start up.
I'm not sure if I should look to the mass air meter b/c its making it run rich, or maybe the fuel system.
Anyone know of a way to diagnose my problems? Thanks.

Check out the IAC (if your car has one) - idle air control.
It is beneath the intake runners, should have two large hoses at one end and a wire harness at the other. If can get stuck.

fuel pressure regulator. Undo vacumm hose while running and see if gas is present. If it is, replace.
