I am having a hard time finding a new air filter for my 1800es. Does anyone have an equivalent air filter reference number for a filter that will work until I can get an oem one.

My local, friendly AutoZone has been very accommodating for my 71 Volvo 1800E's needs; they don't run and hide when I mention the car, and what I'm looking for...and they usually have what I need -- including the air filter for the car. Of course, it could depend on how service-minded the folks in a particular area happen to be. Here in Memphis, both stores that I frequent go out of their way to help. PS> I'm not affiliated with AZ in any way -- except as a steady customer.

Have you tried taking the old filter to a parts store and seeing if they
could match it up? Probably the older the store the better and if it is
a newer, all computer-controlled store, it might be a good idea NOT to tell
them what car the filter is for. (In my experience, as soon as I say "Volvo",
head-shaking and denials start and they won't even look.)
