Hi everone, Does anyone know where I can obtain a workshop/car manual for my volvo 960 3Ltr. It appears that these are not readily available.
Can anybody help.

Cheers

Dave

Buying the Volvo is a good suggestion. However, I wouldn't buy them new.
Too expensive, and their web site has become completely unuseable without
flash ("Oh but flash is free", "Flash is good", "Here, download this Linux
flash plugin"... yak..).

What I would suggest is that you check eBay. Skip Albright seems to have
a constant stream of green manuals (I just picked up an IRS manual and a
WDM for the 88 760 from him) both old and new up for auction. I believe
his eBay ID is “skipskip”. The average price I've paid to him
seems to be well under half of what Volvo wants for new copies. Just..
make you opt for something more reliable than the USPS for shipping (3.5
weeks coast to coats.. hah). The best part of course is that buying and
selling used books is completely legal.

I'm regestered user, the staff there is the best I have a few of the green manual and the pictures and instructions at http://www.alldatadiy.com are the same, worth the money, you can buy the CD or become a memeber and log on from any computer to lookup stuff.

I have the alldata subscription as well, pleased with it. 25 a year and 15 to renew plus it is as up to date as any other source out there. Only downside is that you need good bandwidth to down load the many images.

There are CD-ROMs available on ebay. I have a set and it's helful and cheap, but certainly not a complete as the green books from Volvo. It will depend on our level of expertise and wilingness to get deeply into the tchnical side of the car.

I got a disc from E-Bay for my 92, 960. It took a while to get the disc, but most of the pictures and charts are from volvo tech. manuals. The wireing diagrams so far have been on the money, and part locations are pretty good. Good luck.

The best are from Volvo. Expensive but accurate. Haynes and Bently don't make one for the 960. I have a Chilton manual, but it covers 850's and C70, C90, V70, V90 & S series. It tries to be to much to too many and as a result is pretty lousy at it all. Haynes usually makes better manuals, but they have neglected the 960. choke back the tears and get a Volvo series bit by bit.
