Whew looks great and same as mine...paint looks identical too. Your 240 is the only other one have seen in the states with the OEM wing. Where did you snag it?

The wing is hevy and at the rear of the trunk,so the trunk wont stay open now.

To fix this im going to find a spring and install it to the hing and trunk floor, when trunk is closed the spring will streach,when the trunk is open the spring will coil tight and hold trunk open. simple fix.

Good call...had to do the same for mine...one spring for each hinge...opens perfectly!

The two springs came with the wing as part of the Volvo kit. I wish I had a camera as it would be clear as day, but I'll attempt to describe as best as possible. The springs are about 2 inches in height (including hooks) and about 3/4 of an inch in width. The tops of the springs should hook into the bottom of each trunk hinge (close as possible to the trunk shock) without needing to drill a hole. On my old '82 (RIP) I can't remember is it is the same setup as the '86-. You will need to drill two holes into the two pieces of metal that rise above the wheel wells. You should be able to pop the bottom spring hooks into the drilled holes. They don't have to be perfect but when you have the trunk fully opened the springs should be compressed. Not sure if this helped...sorry for the lack of a digi. If I can find a pic I'll post.

She's looking sweet! I scored a brand new (well new old part) original 240 factory rear wing from Sweden actually off of eBay...was told that the part was really rare over here I guess. It was pro painted black but I decided to have it painted to match my paint even though the black def accentuated the black/chrome trim. I wish I had a digi so I could upload...soon enough. Some of the 240s from Vallåkra 2002 have it...keep up the good work.

THANKS, I thought people would not like it on a 244,next is a large front wrap around spoler (aftermarket) hopping that will kinda streach the look out even more.

Will do! As soon as I buy one or can snag a buddy's I'll upload some pics. The rear wing def gives the brick a unique look. Also installed the front air-intake "sno-cap" from IPD pro painted...gives the car a little more of a "sporty look." Have you checked out brickstylz.com?? Really nice body kit and front spoiler that fits in quite well!

Yes I have looked at that site and the parts are nice looking,my wallet is not that big(LOL) I have to find one in the j-yard.

I use a $20.00 JAM CAM for all my pics.

That looks really nice. I know you would do a perfectionist job with the installation. I am wondering if you considered painting it to match the white or not - it looks dandy as is - just curious. It's black, right? Does it have a way to mount a high level brake light?

The wing comes in two styles that are the same,one with a brake light under the wing,I did not want the 3rd brake light(personal choice).

The color flat blk is also another personal choice, it blends with the front spoiler/rear bumper-ect.. and pint stripe. Plus I like the accent of the blk. I don't see why one could not paint it the same color as a car,but I like the accent of it, thats all.

Ps-I removed a 6inch scuff of the junk yard truck in exchange for the wing 2min.of work. Not a bad deal A' later..

86-firebird, Yes there is a fat stripe(3M sign material bought at a sign shop for $10.00 3'by 2') and, than I cut strips to fit that covers the whole rear of the car all the way around the car to accent the wing and to accent the big stripe(I use blk electric tape 3M) don't laugh I have been using electric tape for pint stripe for many years and never had a problem with it falling off.

I hate thin pint strips LOL.

Kewl man I was thinking once I get the paint done on my 82 I'd put a wing on and a fat stripe over the spoiler all the way down the car. Now I'm thinking it would look really good seeing your car.
