Factory Glass Tint Care 900

Hi: I have a '93 940 wagon with factory tinted glass. In the rear section (where the dog goes...) the glass seems to have a pretty thick, plastic-feeling tint coat, but there are some scratches, and I'm wondering if there are any recommended products for making them less noticeable. Can another clear layer of something also be put on to keep the dog from scratching the tint in the future??
Thanks
SM

Factory Glass Tint Care 900

I wouldn't think that the factory would have installed additional tint. It seems to go against their "safety standards". Not sure about the Canadian factory. I had tint installed on my '95-945, NC legal on the front side windows and the next shade darker on the remainder.

The tint is durable to a certain extent but not dog proof. I think the only thing you can do is replace the tint or just remove it. I usually use my wife's car for transporting my two crazy pit pull mixes. When they see another dog, they try to bite through the glass.

If you want to remove the tint and it's just the normal thin stuff, keep it wet for a half an hour or so using plastic garbage bags and a spray bottle until it turn milky looking . That is the glue softening up. You can peal it off at that point.

Other than that, use a wire dog box.
