I'm on the verge of purchasing a 240 Wagon and would like any recommendations for a independent service center or dealer in the Boston/Brookline MA area to take a look over the car and make sure I'm not missing anything. Also curious to know if anyone has had good or bad dealings with Kenmore Auto Sales in Brookline.

Tom,
If you can handle the not so great distance, I would any Volvo for
evaluation or work to WCS Automotive in Rockland. Wally the owner seems to be a
straight shooter who does not connect a vacuum cleaner to your wallet
when you walk in the door. I've been bringing both of our 245's there
for a couple years now with good experiences during that time.

About Kenmore, one of our 245's came from there. It was a generally good
experience but I would be careful if the car needs any work to be done by a
mechanic, which ours did (needed exhaust work - done fine; needed front strut inserts - only one replaced and that was not done satisfactorily).
It's a great car and I would not hesitate to go there again, but I
would pay for the car in a 'where is/as is' condition and get it fixed
myself.

I bought my '85 from them years ago and they treated me right then. Haven't heard any bad things about them.

The should be close to the car you're considering.

I've heard nothing about the dealer that has the car. You did get a carfax report right?
