Water in Oil Filler 700

Hi all,
Could I be staring at my worst nightmare? For some time now I when I go to
check the oil which is a weekly thing I have noticed what appears to be beads
of moisture around the top of the Dip Stick Also there appears to be moisture
in the Oil Filler Cap.
Could this be a Head Gasket failure? The car Runs rather rough also but it
still drives and has done all the time I first noticed it.
The Car is an 83 760GLE V6.
The Dip Stick also shows very very little Dilution to the very bottom of it.
All replies and recommendaions would be so greatly appreciated.

The Oil is far from Mayonaise etc Brownish.
The Car does get to Operating Temp It does not Blow smoke at all And yes I
would have to say that the car does consume coolant not a great deal apparently
this engine is prone to doing so. Further more if it was coolant and not
condensation wouldn't there be traces of the green coloured coolant in the
system??
All the same you all have been very helpfull and I greatly the appreciate
advice you have given to me.

Drain the oil, sample the oil midstream, send in for analysis.

Do a cooling system pressure check.

Do a leak down test.

Do a HC in cooling system sniff test.

These are scientic methods, any combo of two for sure will pretty much nail it down.

usually head gasket failure results in coolant to oil mixture which often comes out as the brownish thick stuff on the dipstick, not to mention the smoky exhaust and foul smell.

If you are doing a lot of short trips this might be a normal result. However you could have a bad thermostat, which is sticking open and not allowing the engine to warm up. If it doesn't get to operating temperature, it can't get drive offf moisture in the oil. Thermostats are cheap- if it's old, just replace it.

Is the oil still oil or is it mousse/brown mayonnaise?
Water condensation isn't 'bad' per se...are you losing coolant too?
Dunno what you mean by Dilution to the very bottom of it....please clarify.
