Taillights would be nice! 200

My taillights on my 88 245gl are terrible sometimes one works if you wiggle the wire or twist the bulb just right. The copper contact pad on the backs of them is worn out in some spots. Has anyone had any luck with just replacing the copper contact sheet? and do they come with the tongue that connects to the plug? Thanks Sean 88/245 187,000

I don't if your newer car has these but my '81 has contact tabs on the bulb sockets. It just happens that regular 1/4" spade connectors fit these tabs. So I rewired all my tail lights to the harness connector. This bypasses the built-in circuit on the light assemblies.

Never saw a 200 wagon with the contact circuit pad before...

My sedans all reponded nicely to a replacement pad however.

Glad I could be of help.

My favorite shop has a mechanic in it, (I shall not mention names but his initials are Andy), who rags on me about my Volvos. "Good thing they are a safe car, they ain't got no damn taillights!", is one of his favorite sayings.

Gambit...
