electric fan conversion 700

Pulled a 6 blade electric radiator fan off a Chevy with a 3.1L FI MultiPort motor to mount on my radiator. Do you guys think this is enough cooling power? The engine is bigger but I am not sure how hot GM engines run. The plan is to remove the existing mechanical fan and mount this in its place. Hopefully it will provide superior cooling, a little more HP, and much less noise than the OEM fan. This is a good idea or bad??

Hi. Bill. I recently installed a SPAL fan on my 1990 760 with apparently excellent results: no cooling problems as yet (3 row radiator in Phoenix), and noticeably quieter operation. Power gains are more elusive, but you'd have to think there was a smidge more. Are you mounting a shroud, as well? How will the fan be controlled?
