Best Engine for a 240 200 1985

Which engine would be a better bet for my 240 as far as availability, further modification and outright power are concerned. The B230FT, the B21FT or the B23FT..
I currently have a B23E...it just dont kick it..

Cheers,
Chris

Best Engine for a 240 200 1985

Availablilty and power? The B230FT.

B21FT used only in the 240 from '81 to '85.

B23FT used only in the 740 for '83 & '84 (or thereabouts).

B230FT used in the 740 from '85 'til the 740 line ended ('92?) and in the 940.

The PRV-6!!! -just kidding. 200 1985

Go for the PRV-6!

-just kidding...
...You should avoid the B27 and the B28 unless you love to replace camshafts (which involves pulling the engine, or cutting a hole in the firewall and removing the dash). It's also difficult to maintain a continuous idle.

God bless, -and listen to Don,
Fitz Fitzgerald.
