'rebuilt' puller fan spins backwards--what's up? 200 1983

Greetings,

Please tell me why "puller" fan I just had "rebuilt" for me (at a junkyard) spins backwards. Or am I crazy? Out in sun too long?

Guys in back room swapped a Delco motor into original frame and blade assembly (14" dia. or so, from 4 cyl. GM FWD car, 1986 approx.) so I could screw it all back in to 4 holes on engine side of radiator.

I saw it run, figured all's well....

Just hooked it up to the battery, the thing spins clockwise, opposite direction I marked on blade way back when (1 1/2 years ago).

If I reverse polarity, the motor won't run at all.

There's a left-hand thread on the nut holding the blade to the motor shaft so shouldn't the motor turn counterclockwise?

What's up here?

Should I reinstall the thing as is and get on w/ better things?

Simply, try reversing polarity of fan motor . . . that is, put the motor's negative or ground wire to positive and vice versa.

He said it doesn't work 200 1983

I would have suggested reversing the wires, too, but he said it doesn't work that way:
"...If I reverse polarity, the motor won't run at all...."
