960 1996 blower motor making noise like someting has fallen into air rotor. I csan not locate any after market service manual for this model. Are there any? Need instructins of how to access motor for inspection without destroying the plastic covers on passenger side.

    The blower moter is located under the passenger well on the upper right corner. It's likely that something that was left on the floor there, like a plastic bag or something else lightweight. When the ACC starts up, it actually creates a prety powerful vacuum and items canjum up into the fan cowl. It ' not hard to gain access, but you might be able to reachin the blowerfan vent and see if you can find the cultprit. Otherwise there are some access screws that are pretty easy to open up the cowl o get our hand in there. ''I'll see if I have a diagram.

      John, You were correct. Plastic bag ingested. Hemostats used to remove. Also solved the mysterious disappearance of recent purchaase of utility knife blades and mag lite bulbs. Hungry little sucker. 7 inch square of 1/2 inch wire mesh properly inserted will prevent repeats. Surprised that I managed 105,000 mile before this happened. Thanks.

      No actually these will not help. The blower fan is located in a different position on the 960 and probably on later model 940s. See my note above. It more likely that somethng has been sucked up in the unit from the floor.
