Making a ram-air type intake... 700

Okay, So I was looking under the hood this morning.. trying to get some more flow from the airbox. I Was thinking I could disconnect the Warm Air metal tubing from the engine and remount it to the Air Dam as a Cold Air intake. IS there anything wrong with doing this.. or should I just run some other type of tubing? Also, there is a little air flapper at the bottom of the airbox, should I just take off the flapper to keep the air intakes open? Thanks so much!

You can plumb the air intake to avoid the snokel, all the rage on T-bricks 240s, in case you have a similar set up in 740s. Just don't ford any streams in flood season, you don't want hydrolock. Then too, it is easy to calculate that the increased air intake for combustion, from a slight pressure increase that results form forward movement of the car, will be inconsequential to anything except your imagination. Snake oil, placebo, whatever, talking about the ram effect.
