brake lights 200 1984

well, I have successfully fixed my tail lights. However, now I have no brake lights. Brake failure light is on, as well as, a bad bulb warning. Any suggestions?

I had this same problem the day before yesterday. Turns out, I had to pull the connectors off the back of the lights a little. If you don't have a helper who can keep their foot on the pedal, slide the drivers seat all the way forward and wedge a piece of wood or something similar between the pedal and the seat. Head around back of the car and slowly start taking the connectors off. If your problem is anything like mine, you'll notice the light come on. If not, double check the brake bulbs and the sockets. Make sure the tabs on the socket make good contact with the foils. Also, take a pencil with an eraser and rub the contact areas on the foils with the eraser. Try rubbing the contact area of the connector on the back of the lamp assembly itself. Finally, be sure you double check fuse #6. Hope this helps!
