Cheap floormats, any ideas? 200

When I bought my 240 it had some generic brown carpet floor mats that I tossed right away (they're were pretty worn out and didn't really match in the first place). The carpet underneath was beautiful, so I felt no shame. Now I've been driving the car for several thousand miles and I'm sure that it's a keeper. I want to preserve the carpet, which means I'm going to need to pick up some floor mats.

I've been watching ebay, but usually people are only selling the tan, grey, or blue floor trays. I've got the brown interior (it's an 82 DL) What else is out there?

Who's gotten floor mats for cheap? What about one's a Wal Mart? Will they fit? I'm trying not to spend to much, but I'm not entirely sure what's reasonable.

Go for the trays, and get them ASAP. One of the best ways to start rust in the floor of a 240 is to get the carpets wet & let it sit there. Do your Brick a favor and do all you can to keep water off the floor; if it gets there, pull up the carpet and dry it post-haste.

You want floormats? I got floormats. They're tan and used, but in pretty good shape with the Volvo emblem. I'll send them for $15 and shipping, let me know if you're interested. By the way, I have the trays and really like them. Philly tends to salt heavily, and I like knowing that it isn't getting through my carpets.

My '83 242 has the brown interior with black accents.

IPD sells the hard plastic trays in black. They look great and the price is right.

Hard plastic trays 200

I have had both, the soft Volvo rubber mats, and the hard plastic trays. We live out of town, so mud, dirt, grit, snow, etc. is a problem.

We use a "Pantsaver" floor mat over top of the hard plastic tray. The mat fits perfect, with a bit of edge roll up allong the sides of the foot wells.

The Pantsaver is ribbed to keep the cuff of the pants out of any accumulated grit, water, etc. - and the mat holds a lot of water - rather than the water running off of the mat into the carpet.

I love the hard custom fit Volvo plastic trays as a protector of the carpets, and the edge of the hard tray guarantees that no water reaches the carpet.

Just check under the tray and mat after wet weather, and with older 200's, water coming in the rear side window (Driver's side) is a common problem - one that is not detected till it's too late.

Agree with the plastic trays/mats. I bought a set last month during the IPD sale for $15.00 (fronts only). Living near the beach, I'm always tracking sand into my cars. These make cleanup easy.

What about some carpet remains at a whole sale shop.???!!!!

Probably you find them in the color/design you like more than the original volvo ones.

you just cut em in the shape you need!!! with a little border.

ALso you can try the plastic carpets of a 740. They don' t wear.

succes

THere are a few places on the INternet that will sell you quality mats. Don't get the cheap ones like are sold in Wallmart or Pep Boys. They move around, curl up and disentegrate in no time. Get good quality floor mats and you'll thanks yourself every time you get in the car.
