Ideas for removing bolts from catalytic converter 200 1981

I have removed the exhaust manifold and down pipe bolts, but need to also remove the bolts from the down pipe to the cat. After soaking many days in PB Blaster, no movement at all. What are the next best steps to take to get these off?

This is the perfect excuse to purchase that die grinder you have always wanted. It and an abrasive wheel will make short work of any stubborn nut or bolt that should be foolish enough to stand in your way in the future.

Cut 'em off, replace with new. Some cats have threaded holes in the flanges, some have through holes.

If yours has the threaded holes, merely drill through and reassemble using a bolts and nuts.

As I recall, I've used 5/16" NC bolts very successfully -- maybe even 3/8".

You might have to break them off and tap or drill the rest out. You'll be using new bolts anyway.
