Why are the battery, driver and spare tire all on the same side? 200

Is it because the engine is slanted to the right?

Not sure why exactly, but this does put a disproportionate amount of mass over the left front. Check out Mr. Towery's excellent page of 240 corner weights.

I wondered that too. Spare could be switched, come to think of it.

I think they were hoping to give the stock 2.3 liter a fighting chance at throwing some gravel with the right rear tire... haha

Possibly a design throw-back to when Sweden drove on the left as well.
They changed over to driving on the right in the late 50s early 60s as I remember.
It was total chaos for a while, as you can imagine!!!
Colin.

New Year's Day - in EITHER 1967 OR 1968 but it was definitely one of those two. And contrary to what Colin has asserted, I have read in many reliable histories of the event elsewhere on the Internet (not just Swedish sites) that it was preceded by quite a bit of advance planning, a public education campaign and training - and actually went rather smoothly.

It's an alliance in case the washer fluid reservoir, passenger and optional gas can attempt an invasion.

The suggests that the engine might slant to the left in the UK.....
