I am looking for a good shop to re chrome my bumpers and trim on my 444, so far the prices have been ridiculous, I could by new bumpers from swedish classics for a few more dollars. Anyone know of a good plater who does quality work at descent prices ? Thanks for the help

    Hello...
    Haha...that's one thing I love about Thailand, I just got my 122S bumpers chrome plated for only 50$ each... and got the valve cover for 15$... shinny new.
    Not much help I guess.

    New bumpers are about $450 each from Sweden, just FYI...

      Modern (legal) chroming doesn't look very good. Go for new bumpers from Sweden.
      Phil, weren't we just talking about this? Ha ha.

        Actually, that's good news for me as well. I was budgeting around $1200 for bumpers for the PV, but if I can get them for $900, then great! Any idea if anyone has new grill surrounds available? I got a new grill from CVI, but they were out of surrounds and were looking at remanufacturing a batch sometime soon...

          Well, I was talking about 122 bumpers. I haven't a clue about the price or availability of PV units... but I do know that old-style VW Beetle bumpers bolt up and look like they belong on a PV, if originality isn't a major factor. Readily available new at VW shops, and for way far less than $450 each.

            By the way, those VW bumpers can be ordered from catalog houses for under $45/each. . .(Rocky Mountain Motorworks in Colorado, or JC Whitney)

              This is great news! I need a bumper for my 544 and it's been all debadged anyway. Looked in Whitney, A VW bumper without overriders is $24! And it will be straight!
