Any ideas on how to stop leak at that stupid O ring at the top of water pump ? I have tryed 2 new rubbers and still it leaks WHY OH WHY.

It is important to lever up on the pump thereby compressing the O ring as it is tightened in place. You will notice that 2 of the mounting holes are elongated to aid in this process. Install them first, lever the pump up and tighten, then install the remaining bolts. Rtv sealant is OK too.

You need to put some upward pressure on the water pump when tightening the nuts and bolts. I use a wooden hammer handle that I lever under the pump and on top of the alternator. Clean the mating surface on the head with carb cleaner or lacquer thinner and use a little silicone seal on the rubber donut. You have to notice some compression on the rubber seal to get a non leaking joint. Let the silicone set before adding the coolant.

I put some RTV sealent on mine. Just smeared a little around the tube, then put the oring on, and smeared some on that. 2yrs, no leak.
