After installing new windshield wiper motor, fuse keeps blowing. 200 1985

After i installed a new windshield wiper motor in my 1985 volvo 244, everything worked well for about a week, when the windshield wiper stopped working. I discovered I had blown a fuse and replaced it, but the fuses keep blowing. (It is the same fuse for the wiper and the horn). Any suggestions?

Make sure the fuse block is clean and you are using the correct amp fuse.

Disconnect the motor and run the wiper control through the different positions and see if the fuse might still blow.

Disconnect the mechanical attachment at the motor and move it out of the way and then turn on the wiper motor and see if the fuse still blows.

If you are still blowing fuses use a meter to measure the amperage draw of the new motor. You may have a bad motor and you will want to take it up with your supplier.
