Anyone know the minimum front brake disc spec?

1986 240 (solid discs)

My mechanic said they are .516 and .520. Is this the amount below spec? If so, do I really have to replace? The dealer I went to a long time ago said they were okay below spec, but I am not sure how far below he meant...

Hanes manual says:
NEW: 0.56
WEAR LIMIT: 0.50

You should be good to go. ..... ehhrrrrr, make that stop.

Thanks. I guess they need to be machined first, then I will probably be below spec. How much does machining take off? How far below spec do you think is okay?

don't bother machining. buy new discs. $23 each from fcpgroton for ATE brand solids.

So I decided to order new parts anyway.

Still just curious if machining these would put them below spec. And how far below spec is still acceptable?
