My 740 gas tank can't be closed to prevent vandals and i was wondering if there is a way to install a lock or a special cap it prevent (kids from putting sugar or some other crap in my tank. I like how my aunts v70 work when the door locks are close the filler door also closes thanks

I have been thinking about getting one for a long time and your thread refreshed my memory. Bought a CST locking gas cap #5791 at Autozone. It came with two keys. Cost $9.99 USD. Works fine so far. Only thing that bothered me was that the threaded neck was made of plastic. I suppose it really doesn't matter though. Locks and unlocks nicely and hopefully it will deter Volvo vandal hopefulls.

I got a pricey one from IPD for my son. I works well. "WASO Lasbart Tanklock #1818", for a '78 to '95.

I've been thinking about getting a locking gas cap. I'm afraid of some idiot dumping stuff in my gas tank. I believe that Autozone makes one that will fit the Vovo.

Actually, it's made by Stant. Filler neck threads are somewhat universal, there's maybe only 5 or 6 kinds.

Volvo sells a locking gas cap. When gas prices rose earlier this year I gave one to my son who is in college and parks in the college parking lot.
