Help! Didn't have answers... 700

Hi everybody again! I did not have any answers, and I don't know what to do. Does someone know if I can use Bosch 0280150762 injectors instead of 0280150734 for B230F engine (1987 Volvo 740 GL)? Thank you for your help.

Lis

The short, obvious, answer is "no"; the similar question is "why?".

Hi Jim! To answer the "why?" question : I have problems with one of the injectors (Cyl. no. 1), and, since the previous owner of my 740 GL (B230F) gave me 4 other injectors in pretty good shape, I wanted to know if I could replace all 4. For me they look the same, only the number is different. I understand they are for different sizes - 2.3 and respectivelly 2.4. My question is, obviously, related to this. Why not? What are the problems that couyld result from such a substitution? Why not using a Bosch injector from a 2.4 in a 2.3 IS?

Thank you.

Lis

I can tell you that 87 and 88 are the LH2.2 system with the 734 injectors, in 89 they went to the LH2.4 system with the 762 injector.
Can't tell you if they are intechangeable though.
Maybe others would know

Hi David! Thank you for the information. I will try to install them and have a short ride, to see if it works... I hope to have more answers. Following your message, I believe it's all about the amount of fuel delivered (obviously more for LH 2.4)

All the best from Colorado
